Nylon Throttle Shaft Bushings

Wondering if anyone has ever tried nylon bushes in a carb?

I've used teflon and PEEK, Peter!

And brass where there originally was no bushing,

But usually I stuck with Monel, unless it had to be a one-off repair.

Nylon can get pretty gummy when it gets warm.

Its been decades since I shopped for nylon, Peter,..

But there's a harder black nylon that would probably be better than anything translucent.

The problem with a soft plastic, like teflon, is that abrasives embed. Thus soft plastics require a very sharp, unusually long, and expensive reamer, and hope the shaft ain't fat.
If the bushings are "pre-sized", there will be no meat for correcting any alignment issues (which are most common with 4-bolt flanges).

You never know what you've got until you've mic'd the OD and plug-gauged the bore; One set of stainless bushings that a customer bought on fleabay in a kit were two thou over on the bore.
