E15CC170-A881-40DB-90DA-894BF76E5E60.png To all that have commented and provided advise. Yesterday I went on a 60 mile ride. It was awesome. the bike performed really well and topped out at 70 miles an hour and had an awesome time on my bike. Thank you all so much. God bless.

Great news. It's hard to believe a bike that old can be such fun to ride today, and at highway speeds too.

Fantastic news. Glad you're enjoying it. Now, go on out and see if you can hit 75 :-)

I've been collecting bikes for over 40 years. It's hard to believe but there was a time when VL's were not well regarded. Luckly I didn't pay any attention to what was popular and bought a few VL's at very resonable prices. Later I sold all but my 32 and wish that I hadn't. I enjoy riding the VL as much or better than any other bike I own. You did well with your 35! However I've never had mine up the 70mph :-).
