That should be a standard Schrader valve, don't know what that red ring in there is but it isn't a normal part of the valve.

Agree it's a Schrader as Robbie says, the red is likely a gasket from the valve stem cap that was over tightened forcing the gasket into the stem. (I've got old metal valve stem caps with red gaskets up inside them.)

I normally use those modern air valves for riding, then screw the Schrader valve cheaters over the top for a judged bike. There should be AMCA members selling the 'cheaters'.

I've got four complete assemblies with black donuts in the caps. Found in a Peoria alley thirty or forty years ago.

Why do you say those are wrong? Those are standard Schrader valve cores used in almost every vehicle in the world....

I have long stems so it need the longer old style valve. Wish I would have taken a pic of the the other valve that worked. The new valve was too short and would not take air on the rear tire but worked on front tire for some reason.

Cotten, u got a pic of the valve on a wheel. Don’t see how that works. Not doubting. Just seems big to fit between spokes. Pretty cool though. Want some if that’s what should be.

These have the long checks! (Thought they were 'auto', but might have some stashed anyway,...)

As I posted, I have no clue how they were installed, as it appears the tube would have to be perforated for them.
Hope I'm wrong.

My 'pill box' of spares looks like long ones, too, but I'd have to break into the case to find out.

PPS: Late edit,.. Found a half-dozen long checks in my Phillips 66 tire kit can, HDace!
Which probably means they are still in common use.
