  • 45 sprocket race removal

I need to replace the sprocket race due to sever pitting past 0.001'' I built a sleeve to house the race to prevent stress during removal. I heated the outer case race with my propane torch and applied some pressure with my manual hydraulic press but that sucker is tight didn't move. I did not want to do any damage. Are there any secrets to removing this sprocket race?
    Thanks

What are you calling the "sprocket race"? The race in the end cover that extends into the sprocket and the seal runs on, or the main shaft race where the clutch runs?

The engine sprocket race in the left case half. The race I need to remove is within the steel insert cast into the case half.

Easy as pie. Put the case in the oven, heat to 350, race will basically fall out. If your new race is in the freezer ahead of time, it will fall right in. With your talking of sprocket races i was thinking transmission.
