Does anyone know if a 1931VL oiler will mount to a 1930VL cam cover?

I believe it depends if it's a later 31 pump or not. The later pump has an extra bolt through the cam cover to mount it.

As Peter says, the 1930 oil pump was used in 'first 1931', but that would have been using up the 1930 cam covers and oil pumps. First answer to your question would be no, but I guess you could drill the hole for the bolt and maybe re-machine the outside of the 1930 cam cover if you really wanted to.
