  • transmission oil

I realized a significant gear oil consumption on my WL and indeed, the manual recommends gear oil check in very short intervals.
    Were does the oil go?

Further, the manual recommends the same oil (grade 50) for engine and transmission.
Is this still valid and the best solution ?
I wonder if there are no modern transmission oils available which would be more appropriate for the use in a transmission.

    Appreciated any feebdack

    Regards

Oil goes to your rear chain and much justs leaks out around the clutch gear oil seal, especially if you are using the oem original seal. I would think any lube heavier than 50w would be to thick for proper lubing. Just my opinion...Paps

primary and rear chain in my understanding do receive oil from engine crank case.

Must be the seal you mentioned....

I use a 20 % mix of Lucas oil stablizer in My engine oil and trans .
this product seems to ''stick'' to rotating surfaces .
You can purchase Lucas at any auto store like Pep Boys or R&S
for about $8.00 a Quart , be carefull not to purchase the syntheic additive ,Lucas manufactures both .
