After excellent experience 
in this forum maybe some of you experienced Flathead guys can give me some feedback on this request, too:
I have a 45 flathead with reverse gear (side car machine)
shift scheme R-1-N-2-3
The 1st gear most time slides in smoothly (sometimes I need to roll the bike slightly forward)
2nd gear also slides in but needs slight "persuasiveness".
What concerns me is 3rd gear. Although it slides in quite smooth, the shifting process is accompanied by a rattling sound.
I know that we are talking about antique bikes without synchronization but I appreciated feedback, if this shifting experience is normal and other owners can share it.
