1949 WL Rear Stand Clip

I have the rear stand, with its rear fender clip to hold UP the rear stand when riding.
The stand rattles a decent amount, though it seemed not to when I installed it years ago.

Anyone know if I need to bend the clip up or down to tighten up its ability to hold the stand in the upright position?
Or do I split a piece of fuel line & wrap it on the rear stand bar that is held by that clip; ha!

I've had a one-inch piece of split rubber hose in my 37UL's rearstand catch for over thirty years. It's almost invisible, quiet, and no maintenance.

Matt, don't even try to bend the catch; they are made from spring steel and they don't want to bend. Another method to tighten the catch is to remove the lower screw and nut and install 1/4 inch flat washers between the catch and the fender. Just use enough washers to make the stand fit snug in the catch. It may require a longer screw.
