  • War years and the painted tank emblems.

Im getting close to finishing my 1945 U with side hack. And ive had a lot of good help from you guy and I havent always thanked everyone for their help and its probably not the politically correct thing to do but the closer i get, the more focused i get, and i am get my info and get my sub assembly done so i can get as much progress as i can. Any how i wanted to say that first before I ask the question i need today so i didnt appear to be an ass. . Ok now. I read in our restoration bibles that in44,45, & 46 ,The zero chrome years that the tank emblems were
Painted either White, Grey, or Black depending on what the bikes were painted. Does anyone out there who has lots of time to look at thousands of photos of old Harleys and seems to be able to access those photos at the speed of light. Maybe produce a picture of the black emblems.so i can paint it correctly. One other question is that does any one

⅘reproduce the saturn rings in stainless. Or is it just. The chromedl ones. Thanks in advance KBWalsh

I have never seen a factory photo of late 43 thru 45 machine with any but the grey ones. I believe the other colors were parts department replacements.
