Hi folks,
I’ve been reading as much as I can find on the forum regarding the VL amp gauge wiring issues, specifically the difference between the earlier, Weston, and later, Delco, gauges. I’m going to need to know eventually so decided to investigate.
I’m certainly no electrical expert so could be way off but I think I’ve got it figured out. Take a look at the attached pic and provide comment please.
Also attached is the wiring diagram that came with my loom. It shows power into the ammeter, from #7 via the dash lamp, at the left hand terminal and then straight to ground. I believe the ground should be on the right hand terminal.
If I have got it correct then the one thing I can’t figure out is how the ammeter still works when the light switch is ‘Off’ given that the ammeter gets its power from connection #7 which needs the light switch ‘On’ to be live.
All feedback greatly appreciated!
