Harley and Indian both used the Motolamp. The flat lens version ran 1931-32, with the Indian version having 'Indian' stamped into that lozenge on the top of the bezel. For 1933/4 the rim was changed for the curved lens and both companies used the same lamp. In 1935 Harley went to the pre-focussed Cycleray headlamp, while Indian continued with the Motolamp with the focus screw in the back. My Indian knowledge now gets fuzzy, but I think Indian continued with the same Motolamp 1935/6, then put in a pilot bulb, a new relector, and maybe a new lens around 1937, then went to the slightly larger lens Motolamp around 1940 with the bakelite terminal block at the lower rear that we see on the military bikes. Any corrections from the Indian experts will be appreciated. For completeness, the 1930 Indian and 1931 Henderson headlamps look like they have the same Motolamp bucket, but with cast lugs on the side for the mounting brackets.
