  • 1949 WL 45 Jiffy Stand Spring Clip

    QUESTION:
The Clip that the Jiffy Stand Spring attaches to....

Is it SUPPOSED to have a notch at the top (for the spring to sort of ride on)?
Or is it NOT supposed to have that notch?

(Notch, liker the one on the clip within the center of this image)

    Jiffy Clip.jpgThanks!

The notch appeared in '41 and was used thereafter to'52.

Any idea on how deep that notch is? I think I will take my clip to a grinder to create that notch.
      Thank you so much!

It isn't a notch, it is actually two ears extending higher. there isn't enough material to "make one" out of an earlier type. And then the hole and notch would be too close together to be effective.
