    32V primary chain adjustment

    Hello again. A little information about primary chain adjustment . 1 inch up an down at the top of chain or more or else . rear wheel drive chain also the same . It's been awhile . Thanks

    Pickup a copy of the Harley-Davidson rider's handbook for your specific bike. There's a wealth of info packed inside. The handbook (p/n 13861-36) for 74" & 80" Twin models says to "Adjust chains so they have about 1/2" free movement up and down, midway between sprockets".

        You should also pick up a copy of Steve Slocombes book, 1930-1936 Harley Davidsons.... Buying, Restoring and Riding a VL. It was invaluable to me doing my 36 which I just completed and got registered at D.M.V. YESTERDAY!! WOOHOO!!! You can get that book direct from him at VL Heaven. Good luck with your project!
