  • VL Trans Gearing Location??

For the VL 3-Speed transmission, is the gearing inside the gearbox as noted in the attached photos? I am trying to set up my shift linkage and want to make sure I have correct Gear Lock Plate (2239-28) orientation.
    Thanks,
    William

Nice pictures. Agreed correct. Be sure the gear lock plate shaft 2241-15 is set such that a "point" of top that engages with the shifter shaft 2229-30 is pointing rearward and not a "flat" or you won't shift at all. Happy to send a pic if you need one.

          Bob,
The photos were stripped from ebay - I just added the text. Yes, I believe I understand what you saying (see attached photo). And that is what I'm trying to figure out is indexing the shifter shaft?
          Thanks,
          William

Yes that picture shows it positioned correctly (point, not flat of the "bolt head" pointing to the rear.
Gear shifting fork 2246-15 is below the gear box cover and also in line with the point or approx center of the gear lock plate.
