  • 1936 VLH cylinder base spacer plates

We put my 80" VLH together with 80" spacer plates, But it seems like the push rod covers are to short when we tighten them they seem to pull down on top where they seal against the valve guide.

Maybe shorter seals inside the covers would help? Check the book to see if spacers were used at top of covers or different upper covers were used on the VLH.

Harley used the regular top valve covers on the VLH. This makes them tight to pull down as the cylinders sit 0.1" higher, but it is still possible.
