I'm looking for any information on the early 45 narrow clutch? I have two 3 bolt, 3 speed transmissions that were fitted with a narrow clutch, commonly used on the flat track race bikes in the 40's and 50's. These transmission were as is when they were purchased years ago. I obtained another early narrow clutch for a WR project but noticed that the splined main shaft needed for the narrow clutch is quite smaller than the common splined main shaft you see on most 45 transmissions. 45 Restoration only shows one main shaft which I know is the larger one. Can anybody explain what model the narrow clutch and smaller splined shaft comes from, or where you can even find them? Thank you!

Robbie, thanks for the response. The original WR manual shows very little on these particular things. Is there information anywhere on this? Is there a casting on the trans case that denotes a race transmission?...Looks like more difficult parts to find for the racers! Thanks again.

Mike,
If Rogers post above doesn't answer all your question, please give me a call. (I'll pm you my phone no.)
I enjoy transmission talk.
Also, if you get them apart and discover you need a case race or any of the close ratio gears, let me know, I have them in stock (all USA made of course)
Robbie, I have a pretty good inventory of various year WR tranny cases if you want to build your own, let me know. Also, I still have some of the double keyed 15T hill climber sprockets if you need them.
