  • 1949 Harley "45"

I wish to add a pair of Spotlights to my 1949 Harley "45". Can someone direct me to what would have been the stock optional way to mount? Would it have been the Handlebar Crossbar mount OR the Vertical Springer Bracket mount? Just want to order the correct parts for the 1949 models.
    Thanks!

Welcome aboard! I see this is your first post! And you're definitely in the right place.

One place to check out is the 'literature' collection on the AMCA homepage. There are parts and accessories catalogs from most years of HD. You can probably find the proper accessories or, at least, some great pictures.

That said, I am sure there is someone here who will post shortly.

Post up a picture of your bike! We'd all love to see it.

    Cheers and, again, welcome!

The most common method is the "horizontal" springer mount that puts them next to the headlight. Crossbar mounts were never very popular, especially postwar.

Try Easyruss, he puts them up from time to time, believe they are CMS (Chicago MC Supply). Maybe contact him and see if he has anymore. Real easy (no pun) to deal with.
