Jiffy Stand Spring

I'm having issues with the spring on my VL Jiffy Stand stretching. It's either poor springs or I'm putting it in incorrectly. I would be grateful if someone who has had no trouble with theirs could take a photograph of which way the spring goes. The hook on each end under or over, through the hole first or hooking in last.

I have the same problem with my WL. I think mine came from Taiwan Tedd's and is probably not the best quality. I'm guessing all the repro's are poor quality?

Thanks for the info but what I'm looking for is a photo of how the spring fits. I can get them here but I don't think that I am fitting it correctly and that is why it is stretching.

can you post a picture of what you have now?

I fit them counter-intuitively with the open ends of the spring hooks facing outwards. Some people use the later 4048-30 spring which is too long. Remember the spring plate is different between the big twin and small twin, even though the springs are the same.
