While riding tonight my generator starting making noise . I got it home and started the bike and there was no noise but the generator was not turning after giving it gas the generator started making the noise again . Any ideas before I remove it and try to rebuild it.

I presume you are talking about a 32E in a flat head ? sounds as though your generator drive gear locating pin has sheered or fallen out , take the gene out and check , if just sheered then replace , if not there then you'll have to take the timing cover off and find it . Did the ignition light come on ? best of luck , ken
