Just beginning a 35 VLD project and the baffles have been removed from the cases that I have. The bike will be a rider so the question that I have is has anyone built up a VL motor without baffles and have there been any problems especially during long rides.

1936 vh missing baffles and 40,000 + miles, one 3,200 mile trip no problems. -
If your using pistons with modern rings, leave the baffles out. There are a lot of myths concerning these baffles. I run all of my old iron with no baffles and no problems.Comment

Thanks RP and John. I should have put that in my original post. I currently have a 35VD (my avatar) running modern rings with one oil ring and planned to do the same with this one. I do a lot of miles on that with no problem so by the sound of it having no baffles will make no difference.Comment
