  • Oil Nipple Thread Size

Does anyone know the size threads (pipe, standard, compression, etc.) for the flared oil line nipple used on the left side tank of the 34-36 VL's? I believe these nipples (whether brazed/soldered or with male pipe threaded end) are used throughout most of the model lines where flared joints are installed. My tank's oil nipple is brazed and someone tried previously to remove the nipple with channel-lock pliers. Is there a die that can be ordered to chase the threads? If so, what size is it? Or should I just install a new nipple?
    Thanks!

Harley parts books say the 0140 oil pipe nipple nut is 15/32" x 24 tpi. Both the tank and crankcase nipple are much cheaper to buy new than the rethreading tool.
