    Spiral Direction for 1934 VL

Do both 7 inch spirals turn clockwise on a 1934 VL?

Same part number, same spiral shown for both sides.

Just like the later Harleys, the throttle wire gets longer and the spark advance wire gets shorter in operation.

There were also "reverse spirals" made to accomplish the Indian-shift and clutch option, for both VLs and their descendants.

Harley called them right spirals on both sides. Left spirals seem to have come out in 1935 when Harley was competing for Indian Police contracts with left hand throttle and right hand tank shift. The Canadian military WLC bikes also used left spirals.
