I'm adding to my plee for the beehive tail light . I'm 54 years old and have been restoring bikes for thirty years. Like most guys who have been doing this for a while I've given away more stuff than I can name but I've never had a original beehive . I picked the 1945 UL for my first 100 point cause it was the last year of the war . Hardly any chrome or stainless and they only offered one color that model year . I'm listed as a junior member only because I find it more difficult to operate a computer than rebuilding motorcycles. If not for the IPad I probably wouldn't be a member yet this is my first postings so I'm not really sure if I'm following the correct protocol just blurting out what I need . If I'm not someone out there needs to fill me in . I don't have time to read all the old postings to see how everyone else does it . Thanks

Chris I've never said this to a guy before but I could almost kiss you on the mouth . I gues I should spend more time on the computer. Can I ask you one more question about eBay . I entered an amount that said max bid. But the number I entered didn't come up a smaller figure did. Does that mean that if someone else bids a little higher the computer will keep increasing my bid until it reaches max amount . Thanks if you ever need something . Ask me first I owe you one and I always pay up

Thanks I get most of this but bid sniping is new to me. Also I'm trying to figure this web site out . Our we suppose to help the youngsters out or our we suppose to take advantage of their ignorance . I've seen examples of both. I joined this because I want to be able to discuss things with like minded individuals. So far people have been very helpful . Anyway I am going to take the day the beehive sale is over, off work so I don't make a mistake and lose it . As I get better at this buying and selling I'm sure i won't have to take such drastic measures . But right now just like a kid before Christmas that taillight is all I can think of .

Don't get too wrapped up in it. Those taillights are on there all the time! Good originals are there at least every month if not every couple of weeks! And you would need to strip that chrome anyhow for your bike, why not just wait for a painted one and let someone who needs a chrome on bid on that! And no I don't need one so I'm not trying to trick you!! I've been using eBay since it started and one thing is certain. Everything shows up again.

Beehive
Rub if I let this one pass it could be first of a thousand or it could be the last. If I had someone who was more computer savvy helping me I would do as you said but I spend most my time working on bikes . So I'll try to get this one , then if I do, I'll easily get the chrome off cause that's part of what I do for a living, ( without causing any damage to part) I'll return it to stock then I'll look for another one . I've been doing this for thirty-five plus years and don't know why I haven't come across more of them . It just seems that with every person who gets bitten by the restoration bug there's one part that each of them has a hard time getting mine is the beehive. Anyway I know what your saying but with my history in this area I have to try and get all I find. Thanks though. I tell you using these damn computers is way harder than anything I ever did on a motorcycle. All help in this are would be greatly appreciated .Last edited by Sidehacker; 09-18-2012, 12:48 AM.

I use EZ-Sniper.
Have your kids or grandkids set you up.
All of the sniper programs watch the auction for you, your computer doesn't even have to be turned on, and will bid for you in the last second or two. You don't have to be there, and it only wins the auction by the minimum bid increment. You get an email with the results, win or lose.
I have never lost an item this way---- provided I entered a large enough 'maximum bid' amount...!
But I also understand the struggles with computer usage.... it's like anything else, you get better with practice...!
Good luck on your bidding, hope you score it cheap enough.
