speedo cable - parkerized?

need a speedo cable for my 37 ulh , any body no whos making the after market type , need 1 with parkerized housing ,not cadium plated. book says it should be parkerized . i do my own parkerizing but cant do over cadium ,cant sandblast it off either . any suggestions

Strip the cad with Muriatic Acid (the stuff you clean cement with) and then parkerize. I do it all the time it works like a charm. Be careful to do it outdoors as the fumes are toxic.

Poor advise! The By-product of Cad and Muratic acid is Cyanyde gas! It's a good way to take the last ride! FatDog

If you want you can send me the cable and I'll strip it for you. Or I'm sure a plating shop can handle it.
