    When these were new, Steve,
They were not expected to last generations.

A crude field repair kit was not considered a threat to History, as a new carb could be gotten off the shelf if a hole got boogered. The kits probably stimulated sales.
Even repeated skillful attacks will eventually change the carb's tuning characteristics away from its original metering.

Modern cleaning methods, and a little common sense, will conserve our machines' performance.
Modern digestive fuels are cleaners in themselves, and implements of torture such as the drill kits should be viewed as novel memorabilia only.

The kit as issued for WLAs. As Cotten says, use at your peril!
