    vl transmission drive gear

    i have a vl drive gear as well as the drive gear bushing. i have never looked inside a vl drive gear with the bushing installed. can anyone tell me the correct way to install bushing? thanks

    On the VL 1931-36 main drive gear the bushing is installed with the open ends of the spiral grooves on the inside of the box next to the five square dogs that engage the slider gear. When using the slightly shorter repro bushing I install it the same way. This one also has four grooves not present on the original bushing, and these go on the outside of the gearbox.

        ratt form harbor vintage deals with a lot of vl parts and is very nolageable on the vl stuff
