  • Servi-car axle question

I opened up my juice servi axle to check and make sure all is good. Once out of the housing I put the axle and diff in the lathe to check the end play (only way I could figure to hold it steady). Used the tail stock to hold the other end center and put a dial indicator up against the speedo drive gear. End play came out to .015 and the manual has the end play listed as .003-.005. They say to change out the retaining clips at the ends of the axle to adjust the end play. Do I need thicker or thinner retainers? Anybody have some?

I'll pull it back apart and measure the thickness of the ones I already have.

There are 2 retaining clips on each axle. Take them out and measure them. I had a machine shop make a few for me. they are not hardened. I had mine made thick and then filed and sanded to the thickness I wanted.
