I went with my Father-in-Law to pick up his Dad's old WLA this week. It was a perfect little trip, just sitting around and listening to old war stories. I absolutely loved it. Dick was in the 4th Armored and saw action in the Battle of the Bulge, as well as being among the first to begin liberating concentration camps. He also putted around the European countryside on an Enfield he liberated from the Germans who had swiped it from the British. He didn't see any action on the WLA we brought home, but he has had it for a long time and it has the signatures of a bunch of guys he served with written inside the stars on the tanks. He had some really cool pictures of those days and great stories to tell. He was also into bikes back here at home, and he found an old race program that he still had around from the 1930's! It was a great time and now the bike is back here in Northern California and getting ready to get back on the road.
