Tejas National Ride

Howdy..I believe the it was a 1967 xlch.
About 90 riders participated in the ride, coming to Texas from as far as California, Wisconsin, and Florida. My wife and I had a blast on our 1960 Panhead, and we made many new friends. I was particularly fond of Howard Wagner, who humbled us with his 57" Indian Scout. I was also pleased to meet Micheal Breeding - he has been very helpful with our 53 Chief restoration.

The perfect Indian Scout

Howard rode along with my wife and I on our 60 Panhead. As we entered the tight and twisty mountain roads I pushed the panhead as fast as I could (dragging the floor-boards in the turns, and slaming on the breaks as we dived into the turns). I could not shake Howard and his Scout. He eventualy passed us and pulled away at high speed up the hills. His Scout is a masterpiece, a perfect blend of size, power and looks! Attached is a pic.

Awww -- that's great! I look forward to talking to Howard again real soon. He's such a great guy. Hopefully he'll show off his master piece for me.
