  • Need Harley sidecar info

I have a 1938 Harley Sidecar that has three pieces of body trim that is 40 inches long. I went to look for the last one more piece and all I can find is 39 inches long does anyone know what would be the correct length of body Trim

The same 1938 Harley Sidecar has a wheel carrier like in the pictures I’ve attached. Has anyone seen one like this that holds the wheel from turning looks like a curved strap that holds the spoke?

The spare tire carrier you have is for a K model VL sidecar, but will work on your LE sidecar. The correct carrier does not have that long tab, just a hefty short stud near the center. 36-38 sidecars had 2 long side trim pieces and 2 shorter pieces, don't know the length off hand. By 39, all 4 were the shorter length.

Steve is correct! I looked in Rick Boldek's book and verified this. 1936-38 uses one 47" upper trim strip and one 39" lower trim strip, both sides. 1939 on used all 39" strips.
