Thanks to no small amount of input from several here, my 54 Servi Car is back up and running. Lower end, cylinder boring, and valve job done by a pro, but I did the final engine assembly myself, and rebuilt the transmission and carb.
Starts on one or two kicks, runs strong, doesn't leak or make any weird noises, and just needs a few tweaks to get it fully dialed in.
Previous owner had painted some of the trim black, but I just left it, as this was a "refurbish and refresh" rather than a restoration.
It's a hoot to tool around on.
