    i want to convert a 1956 sidecar to hydraulic brakes any help with part numbers will be a great help. i think the backing plate is for a 58-62 panhead and can not find wheel cylinder 87750-58 is there any other cylinder that will work. thank you i am installing the sidecar on a 1965 panhead police bike

    It did use the parts from a 1958-era Hydra-glide front brake. Keep in mind that when the factory did the change, they had to take the third, the horizontal front brace out of the sidecar fender to have room for the hydraulic brake and backing plate parts behind it. Three braces = 1936-57, two braces = 1958 & later.

        Walt That is probably a better solution. You might have had to cut the sidecar frame to get everything to clear. I have never done this converaion but have owned a few sidecars that were and they all have the brake shaft tube cut back.
