A messed up carb and loose magneto with bad timing would be just as hard to start with a 1916 transmission as a 1915 one. But thanks for the poke Lonnie. :-)

Funny to read some of the posts about this video on other forums. I am amazed at how much some people know about these early Harleys and how little others do who claim to be experts.

When you get everything dialed in like it should be, you should be able to start similar to the '16 and later tranny's... standing on one side, just step down. My shins are scarred from trying to start my '15 when the timing wasn't right!
