Reliance Motorcycle

Any existing machines out there or members with knowledge of this marque? I have a mystery engine that might be this brand.

I have a picture of an original paint vee twin Reliance taken in California in the 1960's. I believe the owner had a few of them. Smith, Jurassic , Martinico and Dennie are no doubt all aware of any that exist. They and others will be trying to get what you have shortly.Tread carefully and price accordingly if you are selling.

That's quite the bike. Looks like a hoot! Anyone have any idea on how many of these machines are left? Nice to see another "early" motorsickle out and about.......

Thanks guys for the good advice and pictures. This little motor is atmospheric intake and has a skip tooth sprocket on the engine drive. The sprocket might have been an afterthought as it looks alot like a bicycle rear hub sprocket. No real need for a fire sale here at the house, would like to pin down what it is before deciding what to do with it.

A few more details about the engine: bore 2 1/2 inch, stroke 2 3/4 inch, intake cage 1 1/4 inch dia, number 67 stamped on each case half in front of cylinder, exhaust port 3/4 inch dia not threaded

I know zilch about these machines but if I were to guess... if it is a Reliance it's definitely an early one. Anyone got a picture of an Erie engine by any chance? Jurassic where are ya? You've got my interest up with this one John. I'm going to do some digging this weekend to see if I've got any info on a powerplant like that.......
