  • Lonnie Isam Sr.'s Florida 6-stud H-D?

Does anyone know which thread Jurassic (Lonnie) told us the story about his dad finding and buying the "Florida" 6-stud (green) Harley with the 6-pointed star carb?

I know it's here somewhere but I can't find it!

I'm working on a new and exciting lead and would like to review what Lonnie told us about his dad finding and buying that early early Harley!

      Thanks Cory!

I'll glean info out of that post and see how it fits with this new lead I'm working on. I might be onto something good here, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm also plan to post something about Pennington but trying to get some additional info first.

              Is Jurassic in the House?

I reviewed the thread about Lonnie's dad's 6-stud Harley, the green Florida bike:

              http://amca.dreamhosters.com/bboard/...t=13222&page=9[/QUOTE]

Lonnie I hope you're reading this.

Did you ever ask your dad these things?

              1) Does he know the name of the "elderly gentleman" who sold him the green Florida bike? Did he ever know the guy's name?

              2) What year did he buy it in?

It would REALLY help to get that information from your dad for this new angle I'm working on. It could help identify that machine!

Why don't you just ask these questions yourself? He may even be more inclined to answer your questions if you were to share your "new angle" with him first. Just a sggestion.

Did that. Got more information but nothing is certain yet about the new angle. Not proven, but not ruled out either. All I know is that is a very unique collection of parts to turn up unless the original owner had a very close or very old connection with Harley-Davidson.

It doesn't appear to be the Meyer/Sparough machine.

You're right. It's clearly a different bike. But which bike? Whose bike? And how did it end up in Florida? It all seems to depend on geography and if that comes together we might know something. And therein would be a tale, which of course might also include Mr. Sparough's elusive real #1 machine, which just sprouted wings and vanished!

Curiousity is really getting to me on this one. Any details on the earliest of the machines is very intriguing. I guess we will just have to wait until Lonnie resurfaces.....

The key ingredient right now is what Florida city the Florida bike came out of. Lonny Sr. said he would try to find that out. That would be a very valuable clue as to the bike's history.

Can anyone in FL do a search of the motor vehicle records to find when it was last registered?
