Hi all,
Been scouring the internet for all info on the Cyclone from the teens and am intrigued.
There is little info about them, yet more than for a lot of other bikes.
I have copies of all the pics I could find, Andrew Strand's patents, and whatever else is out there including the very fine OHC Excelsior project.
I've read that Andrew Strand, the designer, was hired in 1920 to update the Cyclone and ads appearing in magazines but none were ever seen.
Anyone know what magazine or have the ads?
I've read that it had a three speed tranny based on the Excelsior design.
I've heard that Reading Standard sent a set of blueprints to France around 1923 after acquiring the Cyclone name and putting together one bike that was raced in 1923.
Does anyone know if there are any blueprints still in existence for any part of a Cyclone?
I'd love to have some more pictures of them, especially the one with a sidecar that I've seen a small picture of or close ups of one.
regards,
DJ
