What was this hub used on?

Just came across this hub in some trading. It is a New Departure Model L. Anyone know what bikes used it and for what years? Thanks!

I don't know how helpful I'm being, but I do know that the very early Indians used New Departure hubs. I also think that various other early makes used them as well. I'll have to do some digging, but I'm pretty sure I do have some info kicking around that may shed some light on this. I'll check back with you when I find it.

Looks like 1914 excelsior, was also used on other models!
