HAWG , My 1912 4B has a breather hole in the case with a pipe leading to one side so oil doesn't go on the tyre , well that's the theory anyway but no hole in the pedal crank so perhaps the one mentioned before was made by a previous owner with a view of keeping the pedal bearings slippery ???
What tyres does your '14 wear ? should be(?) 28x2-1/2 , I have only found Coker ones to fit and they wear out in 700 miles and cost the earth , does anyone know of another supplier ???

Louie , nice Miami , what size engine ? what speed does it run at ??

the pipe is just a threaded fitting into case with a pipe fitted to it??? somewhat facing away from tyre???? ( I spelled tire as tyre just to keep those 'over the pond' happy )

I happened to find an original used set of white tires way back in 1991 and that is what is on bike right now, they are 28 x 2 3/4

have not really looked into a new set yet - waiting till bike is running and ready to ride to look for tire's

''the pipe is just a threaded fitting into case with a pipe fitted to it???''

Yes , no valve or ball to stop blowing two ways , so putting it into the pedal crank is probably a good idea , maybe next time I have the engine out I'll do this but hopefully that'll be a long time in the future ,

Louie's friends 1913 is a lovely piece of Ex history , nice bike !!

Miami is 15 cubic inch and runs about 30 MPH. I rode it a few miles to the HD shop the other day for their open house. Had my wife follow on her Ducati and time me at 30 MPH, then the tail pipe fell off and got ran over by a car........been meaning to replace that anyway.

That's a nice speed on these old bikes !! my Excelsior 30.50 is happy at that , so glad the misses didn't flatten your tail pipe !!!!
funny how after a ride on the old un's (speeking of bikes here) they seem to need some work on them the following day but good fun too keeping them running , enjoy , Ken

                    Hello Louie ,
Yes that's an extra belt , I have had lots of belt breakages and always carry a spare , but did not need it on this occasion , I have tried a few combinations of belting , from synthetic woven/rubber , alligator clip joined as well as sewn in a continuouus length , Kevlar/leather , but the one I am running at the mo is an old flat stationary engine leather belt , cut down to size , scarfed and glued and sewn together with long case clock gut line (the gut line soaked in warm water first to stretch it then on drying it shrinks - old Indian trick I think) anyway it's lasted a couple of hundred miles so far BUT , I'll still cary a spare !!!
                    Happy Riding , Ken

                      great shot! Thanks Ken.

I may have to sleep on your couch one day. While I visit and take in a jumble or two and a road run.

                          ken

I am quite looking forward to puttin-round on my "X" someday soon. watched the chap with the red/black "X" in earlier post ridin at wauseon and I just loved the sight - dreamed what it would be like to be the one doin the puttin.

things would be just great if I could talk someone(s) out of the few remaining parts I need for my bike

I am hoping to have enough complete come spring to bring to oley meet in hopes of stirring up some more parts ( if not complete )

keep sendin pixs it helps me stay focused on the final prize - ridin

can not re attach photo here - see photo under test postings

it is my "X" shortly after oley 1990

hoping to have in oley come 2008

request to all members to help locate final parts to make this 18 year reunion come true

even if all parts are not located - hope to bring to oley anyway

the itch is getting worse every year
