early rear wheel assembly make unknown help

please help trying to figure out what this rear wheel belongs on. 26x2 1/2 clincher 36 spoke internal brake shoes/ the brake shoes appear to be made out of brass with small x reliefs in them. this is also a coast/ brake sytem. stamped in hub new departure model 1?? thats all i can read. thanks Dewey

I believe the Hummer models were 36 spoke. Might start looking in that direction to start with. At least you can either identify it as one or eliminate it as one. Paps

early rear wheel (1914 excelsior ??)

I have recieved an email from a gentleman that believes this wheel to be 1914 excelsior- with mighty brakes. wondering if anyone can confirm this ??? THANKS- Dewey -Please look at the pictures that PAPS posted

Hi

WHeel is a New Departure, SOld optional for many marques.
Not a good wheel as the brass bound with grease, and braking was compromised.
