  • Early Raycycles

Can anyone give me any history of the early raycycles - 1905, 6 and 7 . I have read Jerry Hatfields (sp?) American motorcycle history but that's all I know - i.e similar to reading standards of the time and some work by thor. anyone know anything else or any literature out there ?
    thanks

I'm writing a history of the Miami Cycle Co which marketed the Racycle, here's a brief section from it..

    Racycle

The Racycle was the first motorcycle made by Miami Cycle starting in 1905. The first years began as Indian clones with Thor motors and were sometimes termed Moto-Racycle in advertisements but the bikes were always labeled simply “Racycle”.
By 1907, the Racycle had taken on Thor fitments such as the tanks, which were also seen on other Indian clones. By 1913, the Racycle had no apparent Thor or Indian ties. By this time the Racycle was a low priced line marketed alongside the more prestigious Flying Merkels. The Racycle folded along was the Flying Merkels in 1917. (Add Pictures)
