  • 40 holes Eclipse front hub.

Restoring a 1913 Harley twin. Missing front hub. According to Harley parts catalogue they only used 40 holes Eclipse front hubs in 1913.
It seems impossible to find a 40 holes so manufacturing will solve this problem. Now my question. Have a hub with 36 holes but are there any differences in measurement between 36 and 40 hubs excepting number of holes? If so I would be very pleased to have info about this.

The 40 hole hub for 1913 is a larger hub than the 36 hole hub you have. Both length and diameter differences.

    Hub shell over all length 3.925" (3 15/16 3.9375)

    Assembled overall length 4.5"

    Spoke Flange O.D. 2.25"

    Flange centerline 2.875"

    Bearing end O.D. 1.33"

    Center O.D. 1.225"

    Flange thickness .125"

I have a nice original 1913 HD twin. If you need other assistance let me know. When I have the time to help I will do what I can. Right now I am busy building an HD 1912 belt twin for the Century Race at Barbers Motorsports Museum (100 year old bikes racing around a 2.5 mile road race course) and preparing my 1914 HD Cannonballer (The Gray Ghost) for the big event.
