Looking at just the frame, the later Merkels were quite sophisticated for their time. I've thought about painting mine dark blue, but orange is a knock-out color. Beautiful work Lonnie.

Harry had a great talent of believing anything about motorcycles that anybody told him. He would then pass it off as gospel without checking it for accuracy. On a few occasions I would fabricate a fact to Harry then listen as he spread that fact around the group we were with.

Is this picture hinting at some kind of filler being used in 1913? There must have been something. What was it. Spot putty is what I think it's called now.
