  • Honda 450

I had to do some re-arranging in my storage hole today so I took the opportunity to take a couple of pictures of my '66 Honda 450 which has been covered up for over a year. Love is blind, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I love this Honda, and think it's beautiful.

The site won't accept my right side picture of the Honda. Must hate Japanese bikes

Looks great, I'm also a fan of early Honda's. Looks like just a little bit of work to get in it riding shape?

...may have something to do with Japan driving on the "wrong" side of the road (left). Boy Eric, that's a beaut!

Nice job, I didn't know they had a 450 back then. I got my motorcycle endorsement on my father's 70 or 71 Honda CB450, it was a fun bike. Thanks for the memories.

I certainly appreciate the comments, and encouragement, thanks. I really like how the rear fender is closer to the tire (unlike so many later bikes) and how they filled all the spaces in the frame to make it a styled package. I think the homage to Triumph is very visible and I don't mean that with any disrespect because obviously, Honda blazed their own trail into the history of motorcycling. Now, I need to find some time to finish this bike off because I am dying to ride it and know it's going to be a favorite. . . . Still nuts about Harleys, Indians, and Henderson though

Eric, the red is fantastic! i've never owned or ridden a 450, but the early 450's are very cool. I also like the '69's, they also had a chrome tank panel but body parts are of a later design. I was just thinking of you the other day, hoping you'd be back to working on it.
