  • Moto Guzzi Airone

Last Fall I picked up a 1955 Moto Guzi Airone to fix up and ride in the Moto Giro here on the East Coast. Mine had been sitting in a warehouse for years untended and unloved.

After a few days cleaning the carb, gas tanks and lines and flushing the oil system, I got it running on the magneto ignition.

In the last couple of weeks we got a battery installed and wires fixed, swapped out the leaky and damaged 22mm Dellorto carb for a new Mikuni (can't find of fix the Dellorto yet) and registered it for street riding.

Planning on competing with it in the Moto Giro next weekend.

Anyone have any advice or suggestions on how best to final prep and ride this 55 year old single cylinder Moto Guzzi?
