  • Looking to purchase Ducati single - advice needed

I am currently looking for a pre 1972 Ducati single, preferably 250 and bigger. I wanted it for AHMRA Vintage roadracing (must be 72 and earlier), like the Sportsman class fort those familiar. I see a few Monza's and Scramblers for sale, just a few questions. Is it preferable to get a wide case, ie from 1968 - on? Ian Fallons book mentions that the wide cases are more durable? Also, is it feasible to use a Scrambler (properly set up) in a road race as opposed to MX? How is the parts availability for new reproduction parts, and where do most of you obtain them? Racing likely means higher maintenance so parts availability is a concern.

The Moto Giro in a previous thread also sounds interesting.
