Gents, For the past few years I've been working on rebuilding two old bikes that have become a labor of love:
1974 BMW R90/6, made into a cafe racer. Reworked the upper end with new siebenrock pistons and cylinders, valves, valve guides and springs. Dellorto 38mm carbs, new paint, wixom classic bags, custom seat, ducati front disk brakes, new tires.
and my 83 R100T travel bike, new rings, honed cylinders, new valves, valve guides, springs. Rebuilt front end, damper, new tires, windscreen, and assorted other details for the recent trip to the Texas hill country.
Well worth all the time, $$ and at times frustration in the garage... I'v e come to love the old BMW's. Parts can be had, and they have such a following that there are a number of support groups, and shops that cater to just old BMW airhead repairs and upgrades...
