At any rate, once viewed, if a diehard Vin fan, one would become quite rankled as our beloved marque is not cast in a favorable light. This one's been debated hotly at both the VOC forum and on an JTan, general consensus is it's just some silly car guys who view 2 wheels as less than half credible than four for conveying ones self, seeing as the Jag is reputed to have "won" over a claimed Vin not in fine fettle....though owned by a long time Vin enthusiast/rider.

I'll note wryly here, my 67 XKE back in 75 was the ONLY car I've ever owned/been in that lit on fire behind the dashboard on two separate occassions while underway.

Howdy Ken,

Thankyou sir, 10 years later, little less idealistic about finishes on some restorations. Resurrected my Shadow here in 08 from a moldy basket via 4.5 rattle cans of Krylon and 1,600 miles later couldn't be happier...less to worry about, touch up any scratches with a Sharpee only to prevent rust.

Excellent show despite the dubious outcome.
