Sorry but wrong paint color is a 6 point deduction right away. Anyway looks great, should have done MORE research.

      Hi Cass,
Not sure if your reply was to me or to Rousseau. But, no bubble burst from my side. I know that you know your stuff (you beat me up a little at Oley last year when you judged my Bonneville ) and I agree with your comment on the paint for a '68 T100C. Matter of fact I recently helped a friend with a '68 T100C restoration. As far as my TR6C, it's not correct paint either, but I like the TR6R color combo & style better than the original TR6C. As far as the "research", I've done plenty over the years (plus in a previous lifetime worked for a Southern Calif. Triumph/BSA dealer turning wrenches while going to college) and made my decisions on personal preferences for this "rest-a-facation". You know us West Coasters are a little weird.

more pictures. I agree that more research should be done. I hope that these facts will not further confuse our judges

Thanks for these. I actually have this as a two page center ad from Cycle Magazine famed. BTW, I believe that there was no difference in the livery for U.S. East Coast or West Coast delivery for the models shown in the ad. However, on the West Coast you could get painted fenders (at least for Bonneville) as a dealer option. Not sure if the East Dealers would do the same. The dealer would simply order the fenders as used for domestic UK delivery and swap them out - don't recall for certain, but I'm pretty sure that this was not a freebie. The knee pads were also a dealer option. As commented by more than one of the real expert restoration folks, sales brochures are a great help for restoration research, but sometimes misleading, as the marketing guys got their pictures before the actual release of the models and the factory would sometimes make changes at the last minute. Drat - nothing is easy...

I get a real kick out of all this trivia and the exchanges that it generates. In the end, for me (and I'm guessing the same for the rest of the AMCA community) the pleasure comes from the work and fulfillment of bringing back the old rusty, filthy stuff to a beautiful machine regardless if it's a high point restoration or a personal statement.
