My experience with old wiring has never been good. Seems like the insulation gets brittle and I have encountered voltage drops across old connectors. Why would I put old wires back in to it?

I've had great luck with 40's nos Harley Davidson wiring and connectors. Just as nice as the day they were packaged. Of course the wiring I am speaking of was in military packaging and was stored correctly.

Yeah, I'm just thinking of old stuff in general. I plan to ride this bike. I have seen what are said to be restoration quality harnesses being offered by a couple of companies. I don't have a problem with going that route. Better than the cheap crimp connectors and hodgepodge of multicolored spaghetti that lurks under my seat now.
