Receintly on a National Road Run someone had mentioned that a fellow rider had dumped the twin carb set-up as they were unable to sync. them properly.
WHAT!!!!! Looking around at the guys I figured maybe 70 percent of us (or higher) would have the knowledge, and would have been MORE than happy to lend a hand. JUST ASK!
Ohhh well....
A friend from a British Club that I also belong to (BMOC-BC), did a little tech session and was kind enough to convert his hand out into a PDF file. Thanks Jim. And here it is.
BUSHMANS Twin carb tuning secrets
Once you have completed this you can go an extra step by purchasing a 25 foot length of clear tube. Pour in some ATF fluid. Strap it to a yard stick with a U-loop. Hook it up to balance tube connections and fine tune it. Works for BMW also. Cost = 8 bucks.
Ahhhhh.. also -big fan blowing on air cooled motor if you mess with carbs for extended period of time.
Sticking your fingers into the carbs to sync. them would be about as accurate as digging a hole with a hand grennade.
If you have a multi carb automobile (more than two) something or other, buy the mercury lines. As you will get more use out of them. But, you already knew that.
